Some weeks flow exactly how we planned. The routines are steady. The to-do list gets checked off. The house feels calm. Your mind feels clear. And then there are weeks like the one I just had.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m a creature of habit. I like routine. Structure helps calm my mind and center my spirit. But this week, that routine was completely disrupted.
And if I’m being honest, there were moments where I caught myself thinking:
What exactly am I doing?
Building a business. Raising children. Trying to be present at home. Trying to grow something meaningful. Some weeks feel like momentum. Other weeks feel a little more like survival.
The Reality of Motherhood While Chasing Dreams
Motherhood and chasing dreams are a unique balance. There are days when you feel powerful, like you’re building something meaningful while raising little humans who are watching everything you do. And then there are days when the house is loud, the to-do list feels untouched, and you wonder if you’re doing any of it the way you’re supposed to.
Motherhood doesn’t pause when you’re building a dream. And dreams rarely wait for the perfect moment. Sometimes they grow in the middle of the messy weeks. The weeks when routines shift. The weeks when things don’t go exactly how you planned. And somehow, even in those moments, life keeps moving forward.
Choosing Faith When the Plan Feels Unclear
One thing I’ve learned along the way is this:
Even when my plans feel messy, I choose to believe God’s plan isn’t. There are moments in life when the path doesn’t make perfect sense. When routines break. When plans shift. When life throws unexpected moments into your week. But faith reminds me of something important. I don’t have to have everything figured out. I just have to keep showing up. Because if He has a plan, then there must also be a purpose. Even when the road feels uncertain. Even when the routine changes.Even when you’re still figuring things out along the way.
A Reminder for Any Mom Chasing a Dream
If your week felt a little chaotic, too, you’re not alone. If you’re balancing motherhood, responsibilities, dreams, and wondering whether you’re getting it right… You’re in good company.
Building something meaningful while raising a family takes courage. It takes patience. And sometimes it simply takes faith. Faith that the dream in your heart was placed there for a reason. Faith that the steps you’re taking today will eventually make sense. Faith that purpose doesn’t disappear just because the journey gets difficult. Sometimes progress doesn’t look perfect.
Sometimes it simply looks like continuing to move forward.
Trusting the Journey
Some seasons in life are about clarity. Other seasons are about trust. And right now, I’m choosing trust. Trusting that the same God who gives us dreams also guides the journey. Trusting that purpose doesn’t disappear during difficult weeks. Trusting that the path is still unfolding exactly the way it should.
Sometimes the reminder we need most is a simple one:
He has a plan. I have a purpose
